Brookside welcomed John Maher this month for an afternoon of Guitar sessions,
We’ve seen first-hand the amazing benefits that it brings, improving general mood, positivity and well-being after even a very short exposure to music (sometimes as little as just 30 seconds).
We work with several music providers on a regular basis and we notice the positive impact that music has on our residents daily lives. Manager at Brookside Sarah says:
“Music brings the residents alive; it gives them stimulation, helps them to reminisce and enables them to socialise with others. They are able to interact, and it gives some residents an opportunity to sing or hum along, even though they may not be able to speak. It’s so good for their wellbeing".
Brookside incorporates many forms of music, from live performances by singers and bands, to singing and choir practice for residents to enjoy!
