They say you can tell a lot about a care home by its staff. This tradition of caring is something we take great pride in maintaining and our caring team of dedicated staff; are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help with everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, medication or assistance at mealtimes.

John and Linda Clarke opened their doors as a registered care home back in 1995 and the home has remained a family run home ever since. John and Linda live next door to the home and their two daughters Helen and Sarah are now the registered owners of the home, whilst John and Linda enjoy their retirement.
​
The majority of our staff have been with us for many years and each and every one are committed to providing a high standard of care for our residents making sure each of our residents feels comfortable and safe. Most of our carers live locally and our residents become very fond as they become familiar with seeing the same, friendly familiar faces almost every day.
We encourage our residents to participate in events and activities such as bingo, card games, singalongs and organised outings and day trips as they wish and staff attend regular events.

We often receive thank you cards and letters from our residents and their families. If you wish to view some of the lovely testimonials and thank you letters, these are available on request upon visiting our home.
Residents and family are encouraged to treat the home as their own and our core values such as resident’s independence and dignity show in all that we do each and every day. We always do our best to ensure there is choice and fulfillment and our trained local carers are on hand 24 hours a day. Our live in manager is hands on in the day to day running of the home and lives on site, together with her family.

Brookside Residential Home is registered to operate as a small family run, 18 bed residential care home,remaining large enough to provide the service required, yet small enough to give a personal touch to each and every resident under our care.
​
Residents may of course bring along personal belongings such as furniture and pictures, to create a home from home atmosphere in their room. The home has been extended to offer luxury rooms, all of which are colour co-ordinated and have TV points as well as en-suite facilities.
We encourage family members to visit the home and get involved with residents care plans and attend our regular coffee mornings, barbecue’s and day trips.

Meals may be taken in the dining room or in the privacy of the resident’s own room. During the day, residents are free to either sit quietly or chat with fellow residents. The emphasis is always on our resident’s independence, comfort and happiness.

The aim of Brookside Residential Home is to provide the residents with a home from home. Visitors are always welcome and facilities are always available for residents to entertain their visitors as they would in their own homes.

Brookside has enjoyed an excellent reputation as a friendly and homely environment with high standards in accommodation and care. The kitchen has also received a grade of 5 stars for food and hygiene.
